Trip to Macau

We spent this past Sunday and Monday in Macau. Its just a one hour ferry ride away from here and Bryan's former room mate Gregg now lives there. The big excitement of the trip was seeing the new show House of the Dancing Water. It was AMAZING! A combination diving/acrobatic/dance show, it was one I would see over and over.
Macau has become like a Vegas of Asia. Only BIGGER and more gaudy :o)

A few blurry pictures from the show. The set was really impressive!

We had a great visit with Gregg.

Bath Time

Its gotten cold here, so taking a shower with Dad is a chilly affair! We've been taking more baths so the boys stay warm. Here's a few pictures from the last one.

Max sucked on his soapy hands the whole time and didn't seem to mind :o) yuk!

Jack's Week...

As many of you know, Jack had surgery for his hernia this past week. He was such a trooper and really did well. He seems fine now, and doesn't act like he is in pain. The hospital gave us three difference pain meds to give him and I have only been using one mild one because I don't want to over drug him since he seems okay.
After his surgery back in the room he was napping but restless, Bryan and I took turns laying with him in the giant size crib :o)
Once he woke up he was pretty chill for the next couple of hours. We brought our DVD player and some Thomas the Train and Jay Jay the Plane movies to watch.
Its hard to eat your apple when they are taking your blood pressure :o)
And of course a picture of the wound(s)... not too scary.

Yesterday at home, we took the chalk out for the first time. Jack had fun and drew lots of lines..

And what would a post be with out a picture of Max eating his bear :o)

The tag-a-longs

The boys and I have now tagged-a-long to two events this year that Bryan had to attend. We went with him to the school admin conference last Nov, and last week we followed him to Bangkok Thailand. I have to weigh the advantages of going or staying and so far I've decided that going to a warm climate to a nice hotel is better than being at home alone for a week. Now, the catch is that Bryan is working nearly the entire time... so it's not really family vacation, but the boys and I have fun playing in the hotel room, the pool, and eating out. We just returned last night from Bangkok and this trip was no different, we had a blast and even got to enjoy the weekend with Bryan once the recruiting fair was over.
Bryan left last Monday, less than 24 hrs. after we returned from the US. I left with the boys on Wed, which gave us a few days to recoup at home. We returned last night as a family. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

the family picture!

We had a wonderful two weeks back in the US. And with family time comes the great need to take family pictures. Going through these today just made me laugh so hard. Enjoy!
Jack is so happy in these two Thompson pictures...Not sure why he was so grumpy!
Love the progression of trying to get 4 kids until 4 to smile and all look the same way :o)

And a fairly decent group shot.
Happy New Year!
